Classes at DEFUNIAK SPRINGS Art Gallery

Sue Grimes teaches both watercolor and acrylic in a realistic style.  Students bring their own photo or choose from Sue's collection.  Class includes placing drawing on canvas using the grid system, paint mixing and application

Saturdays 9:30 - 12:30  $40 per class

Jan Hannon paints with pastels, acrylics, oils and porcelain.  

She will teach classes in these mediums on Wednesdays at the Gallery or other days at her studio in Freeport.

Allison Cox  "The Stained Glass Lady"

provides all the tools and supplies to create these beautiful works of art.

These classes take about 4 hours.  Because of the tools and materials used students must be over 18 years of age.  

Prices vary depending on complexity of piece being created.

Qualifies for “Step Up for Students” Scholarships

Children’s classes meet weekly, year round and cost $25 per week or $80 for 4 weeks, paid in advance. All art supplies are provided. Students are encouraged to dress in old clothes.

Homeschool Art Classes

This class meets 1:00-11:30 Thursday mornings and is geared for students ages 5-12.

After School Art Classes

Although this class is primarily for public and private school students, ages 6-12, because it meets at 2:45-3:30 Thursday afternoons, homeschool students may also attend.

Open Studio is for adults and high school students with some painting experience and who have their own supplies. Students may work from photos, art books, life, or imagination, using any drawing or painting medium, including watercolor, acrylics, or oils. Each student chooses his or her own projects. Jan provides mini lessons, individual instruction as needed, answers to specific questions, and also offers encouragement. This group meets the 2nd & 4thThursdays of each month 4:00-6:00 pm, at the Life Enrichment Center, 312 College Avenue, and costs $20 cash or check.
